In 2023 Oklahoma-based convenience store Jiffy Trip expanded its footprint into Northwest Arkansas, opening two stores in Siloam Springs and one in Fort Smith. On Thursday, Feb. 1, Jiffy Trip was recognized at the 94th annual Siloam Springs Chamber of commerce Banquet as the community’s Large Business of the Year.
Jiffy Trip Chief Operating Officer Alex Williams attended the event, along with Arkansas District Store Manager Vicki Horton. “It was an honor to be recognized as Business of the Year by the Siloam Springs Chamber of Commerce,” Williams said. “The entire community has been welcoming and a pleasure to work with over the last few years while planning and opening two new locations. There is a tremendous amount of positive momentum working within the community and we are thrilled to be a part of it.”
One business in the small (less than 5 employees), medium (less than 25 employees) and large (more than 25 employees) category is chosen as the award recipient by Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors, according to Lindsey Taylor, Director of Community Development. “Every quarter, our ambassadors, which includes a group of about 40 volunteers, votes on a small, medium, and large business of the quarter. The four winners of the business of the quarter are then in the running for business of the year, and once again, our ambassadors vote for the winners.”
Taylor continued, “We ask the ambassadors to think about businesses that have had a significant capital improvement, have been a supporter of Chamber events, or have made a great impact on the economic development of Siloam Springs when deciding who to vote for.”
“We are very thankful to have two Jiffy Trip locations in Siloam Springs offering friendly customer service, a large variety of items to buy besides fuel and great food at reasonable prices,” Arthur Hulbert, President and CEO Siloam Springs Chamber of Commerce said.
Both Jiffy Trip locations in Siloam Springs opened in 2023.
